The museum tells the stories about expeditions to the North Pole, mainly with airships but also with skis, dogs ledges, boats.
The museum it is in two floors and it exhibit old documents, newspapers, pictures, original expeditions movies, historical artifacts, letters and more. the exhibition makes visible the explorers effort to reach the North Pole and misterious frozen horizons, driven by curiosity, personal abitions and scientific research.

The North Pole Expedition Museum is centrally located in Longyearbyen, Svalbard. You can find us just behind the University building (UNIS), near the fjord.

The ticket is valid for 3 days.
Souvenir shop
The Museum Shop sells a range of polar-related items, providing information and illustrations about the Arctic regions as well as gifts, cards and clothing. We sell locally made souvenirs.
Café
In our Museum you can enjoy coffee and other hot and cold drinks by the fireplace.
We also have hot chocolate, chai latte and cappuccino.
Ask the reception for the coffee and tea selection.
